| Astellas decides to implement Werum's PAS-X

Second largest Japanese pharmaceutical group installs PAS-X at its Dutch production site |

Lueneburg, Germany, November 19, 2009 - Astellas is implementing PAS-X as an EBR (Electronic Batch Recording) at its Dutch production site in Meppel. PAS-X will be set up in Astellas' pharmaceutical solids production and packaging departments. The project includes PAS-X Business Functions Master Batch Records, Electronic Batch Recording, Weighing & Dispensing, Material Tracking, plus KPI functions. In addition, PAS-X is integrated in Astellas' overall IT environment.
Astellas is the second-largest pharmaceutical group in Japan with three European production sites, the Dutch site in Meppel and two sites in Ireland. The Meppel site was built in 1995 and expanded in 2000. It will become Astellas' pioneer for implementing an EBR system.
